Heritage Sri Lanka (6 Day Tour)

Day 1 : Airport- Negombo.

Arrive at airport in Sri Lanka and meet your guide, transfer to the Beach Hotel in Negombo (15 minute drive to the airport), in the evening either visit a fishing village or spend time at your leisure on the beach, overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 2 : Negombo-Anuradhapura.

After breakfast proceed to Anuradhapura and visit the ancient capital, dating from the 3rd century BC. Attractions include the Huge Dagabas, Ruwanwaliseya, Adaygiri, Jethawanarama Monasteries and Isurumuniya Rock Temple. The scared Bo- tree claims to be the oldest documented tree in the world, bronzed palaces monk chapter house, ponds and very well preserved rock cut Buddha statues and sculptures. Overnight stay in Anuradhapura.

Day 3 : Anuradapura-Polonnaruwa.

After breakfast drive to the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa which is famous for the stunningly beautiful statues in Galviharaya Rock Temple also ancient Dagabas, Palaces, the Royal Pond, Buddha Image Houses, ancient Hindu Temples and marvelous stone sculptures with ancient wall paintings inside. Overnight stay in Polonnaruwa.

Day 4 : Polonnaruwa- Sigiriya.

After early breakfast travel to Sigiriya to visit the ancient rock fortress dating from the 5th century, with its world famous fresco paintings and masterpieces of architecture. In the afternoon take a jeep safari to Kawdulla or Minnariya National Park. Overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 5 : Sigiriya-Kandy.

When you finished morning breakfast, drive to Dabulla Golden Rock Temple which dates back to the 1st century, the cave houses over 150 Buddha Statues and three Sri Lankan Kings and two God and Godesses. Large sweeping of color paintins adorn the rock ceiling. After that proceed to Kandy on the way visit the huge Mathale Hindu Temple. In the evening visit Kandy Tooth Temple and the Culture Dance Show. Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 6 : Kandy-Negombo.

After breakfast visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens with a collection of around 4000 exotic plants set in spacious beautiful gardens. Afterwards head to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage home to abandoned and injured elephant. Milk feeding times for the baby elephants are 9.15am and 1.15pm daily. After that drive to Negombo.
